13 years ago Dale Schock and Jodie Penn, a mother and daughter team, became involved in a nutritionally oriented business. A major focus of that business was to live a toxic-free lifestyle. They learned that so many of the personal care and household products that they came in contact with, on a daily basis, contained ingredients with the ability to compromise their health.
How contradictory it would be to use products that de-toxed the body, only to feed the body with personal care products loaded with toxins! They began reading the labels and found that they had a house full of products manufactured with dangerous ingredients.
They thought “If these products like soaps, shampoos, conditioners, shaving creams, moisturizers, etc., were dangerous, why was the government allowing things like this to be sold in the United States?”
What they found out was shocking! Back in 1938, the government relinquished its authority over the cosmetic industry by allowing the cosmetic industry to be self-regulated. They were horrified when they found out there are chemicals in personal care products that cause hormone disruption, protein denaturing, formaldehyde doning, immune system collapse, infertility, joint pain, blindness, skin reactions, allergies, depression, headaches, chest pains, ear infections, dizziness, chronic fatigue, loss of sleep, premature skin aging, brown spots, acne, oxygen depletion, violent coughing, hyperactivity, irritability, skin discoloration, behavioral changes, mood swings, cancer and even death.
Dale and Jodie continued educating themselves and discovered that most people come in contact with over 800 toxic chemicals from the time they wake up in the morning until they walk out the door and head for work. At this point they started seeking out products that were safe and toxin-free, what they found was that 99% of the products were full of toxic chemicals. Even “Organic and Natural” products had toxic chemicals in them like Propylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Triclosan, DEA, MEA, TEA and Parabens, to name a few.
Dale and Jodie decided to take action and do something about it! They began working with a cosmetic formulator whose specialty is toxin free products. Their passion was to create the safest products available and market them at a fair and competitive price.
